Giro de San Francisco

Giro di SF (40 mile crit):
my legs are sore to the touch, but feel OK on the bike. Levi's not allowed to race today since it's our District crit championship and it's only northern CA/nevada amateurs and D3 pros eligible. so it's basically all the same guys as normal, just not Levi. 120 starters, 50 some finishers. I finished towards the front and was pretty happy to be there. a good way to start to wind down the season. I felt pretty good and am looking forward to recovering and getting some long easy rides in to get ready for the finale of the season....

the Everest Challenge... boo-yeah!

oh yea and I raced last weekend on my new Campy 10 speed stuff. very cool, but occasionally I shifted the wrong direction since I'm still a recent convert! currently running 13-26 for the everest challenge, which meant that I spent a lot of the weekend wearing out my 13 (in saturday's RR, I literally spent the last 30 miles without shifting. i'd be spinning it, some crazy fit pro would attack and I'd
spin it faster! uphill downhill whatever it was all about 30 mph). It also means that I'm committed to only having a 39x26 for the upcoming beastly climbing event... I'll be all set for the Dirty Dozen too! then I can go back to cool fast guy gearing.

University Road Race

University Road Race (65 miles):
hard course... 20 laps, 1.5 miles of climbing per lap! that being the course I was expecting a smaller turnout, and I got it, but of course the field was still totally stacked... crap, Levi is here again! both him and Wohlberg were at the Olympics and are both going to Worlds, and like everyone except the 10 or so amateurs in the field were getting ready for T-mobile. I almost quit after 2 laps my legs were so bad from yesterday, but after a few more laps I started to come around. Levi attacked the field shattered, I was pretty far back, got in a group that caught a group, and another group, next thing you know I'm back in the front group except that there's a still a break away with the big boys. then just to mix things up the officials DQ'ed all kinds of people (including Levi and some guys in the break) for violating the yellow line rule... we all did, there was a cross wind! blew up with 4 laps to go and rode in for the finish. I have no idea where I placed, but there weren't too many guys left!

San Ardo Road Race

San Ardo Road Race (84 miles):
crap Levi L. is here again. except for a brief mellow point where everyone stopped to pee it was pretty much 30 mph the whole time. and the last lap it was Levi chasing down a break pretty much all by himself again 30+mph all the time... like sitting on his wheel in a TT or something. managed to hang with the front group, but sat up for the uphill finishing sprint.
