This book finally answers that age old question: Why Do Men Have Nipples? - Newsweek Health - MSNBC.com (admit it, you've wondered that your whole life!)
please answer this: Why do men have nipples?
Well, one reason is so men don’t put their shirts on backwards. There’s a longer explanation in the book. But the short version is: it is a remnant of our brief days as a woman in utero.
my friend Peter making me famous with his fine photography work:
go Levi! hopefully this means he won't be showing up at the Cal Cup like last year!
Yea you knew this had to happen... I saw this story on Reuters too, it's all over the headlines of course.
this is Josh Butz crossing a slimy log this morning after we split off from 3 other guys. it's crazy how many people are willing to ride at 6:30am! good stuff.
as always, please pardon the blurry phone photo.
gosh will this guy ever retire?! probably not. I saw him earlier this year when he showed up at the Morgan Hill crit that Specialized put on. he's a legend for sure.
yea, it was pretty dark this morning, especially deep in the redwoods, but at least I got out there! ...though it's still summer I can already notice that the days are getting shorter.
not much out yet, but it looks like Fabrizio Guidi has tested positive for EPO. check the cyclingnews link below here: Guidi positive
good to see Chris get picked up for a couple more seasons... hopefully he got a real contract this time too!
pure heaven. uh, I mean no I had none, I'm a cyclist on a strict diet! ...maybe we live a little too close to the boardwalk!
Travis imitates a great Simpson's character... any guesses?
so yea, it went well! the photo above shows me (in the red and yellow) off the front chasing down a solo rider. pretty amazing really considering my lack of training. I was expecting one of two scenerios, either I'd do nothing and sit in and suffer the whole time and maybe finish or I'd do an effort or two to try to help the team and then blow up about halfway through and call it a day. but thankfully I was able to contribute and finish! no result to speak of, I rolled in with the pack after a crash on the last lap split things up, but I managed to cover a few moves and chase a couple small breaks down and then still get back in the pack and recover! with an average speed of 28mph, for me right now, that's a successful race. hopefully I'll get a few more days of training in this month and get that high end back so that I can actually be a contender in the finale.I'll post results when available. results posted here. looks like I got 49th... woohoo. plus see more photos from yesterday at the end of my cycling set on flickr here.
got out for a quick one yesterday to warm up for today's race (more on that later). It was early so the coast was still totally fogged in. it was pretty though so I snapped this photo with my phone.
in case you all are getting worried that this blog will never be about cycling again, I wanted to let you know that the stars have aligned properly and I will line up at the Timpani Criterium this weekend. Pray that I don't get my sorry under-trained and under-slept butt dropped in the first 4 laps!
